Pre-Season fitness and BioSignature with Premiership Footballers
June 30, 2010 No CommentsI headed up to North London to work with a group of Premiership and Championship footballers for the day as part of their pre-season preparations. Some of the players included Danny Batth (Wolverhampton), Danny Jones (Wolverhampton) and Darren Ward (Millwall).
The day started with a football specific functional training circuit which included exercises related to football fitness. I took them through a dynamic warm up before setting up a circuit of 5 stations. The key to effective football circuit training is to include exercises which mimic the fitness demands on the pitch.

After the training I took all the players thorough the BioSignature assessment which involves taking bodyfat readings from 12 different areas on your body and linking areas of fat storage to hormonal imbalance. I delivered a lecture on how to balance key hormones for reduced body fat, improve recovery and improved speed and power.
